The traditional attar of Indian kadamb is obtained from the flowers of Kadam which is a very fast growing tree and having very beautiful apricot-gold colored flowers. The yellow dye is prepared from the bark of this tree and extensively used as a raw material in the preparation of various attars by mixing the base oil of pure sandal wood. It is also known by the scientific name of Anthocephalus Cadamba and known for its pleasing aroma. The Kadam flowers grow mainly during the monsoons and blossom the attractive fragrance.
